60 going on 16
Some die before death. Some are alive even after.
You are as old as you think you are. It's all about your perspective. The ability to change our minds, or neuroplasticity, is what we all have. This amazing, inherent capacity helps us to adjust at every moment in our lives. While aging can degrade those neuronal links, continuous good habits may reinforce and even establish new ones.
Here are a few ways you can be 60 and feel 16
1. Forget about the number – Age has more to do with psychological than physical. When they meet those age thresholds, for example, certain older people avoid engaging in an athletic activity because they feel they are too mature for them. Alternatively, they can give up on eating healthy because they feel it is no longer necessary.
2. Keep learning- Continuing to learn is another way to keep your mind and spirit fresh. Pursue new interests. Studying a foreign language is a great way to broaden the horizons. Consider taking a guitar lesson. Learning challenges your mind while still cultivating your soul. The slogan "use it or lose it" is often used by healthcare providers to inspire elderly people to keep their brains active in life.
3. Live with purpose - Living a purposeful life allows you to maintain your youthfulness. When you retire, it's easy to slip into the pit of depending on tv for entertainment. Find things that make you more positive instead. Volunteer service brings sense and reason to many older adults. Volunteering can also help seniors enjoy longer, healthier lives, according to new studies.
Don’t let age or people dictate your life. You’re so much more than a number.
